Vladimir Osipovich Bogomolov is a well-known writer, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, awarded many honors, including not only military orders but also the UNESCO medal "for outstanding contribution to world literature." The novels and novellas of Vladimir Bogomolov ("Moment of Truth," "Ivan," "Zosya") rank among the best literary works about the Great Patriotic War. They have been adapted into films multiple times (notably Andrei Tarkovsky's film "Ivan's Childhood," made from Bogomolov's original screenplay), have undergone hundreds of editions, and have been translated into many languages worldwide (the novella "Ivan" has been translated into forty-seven languages, "Moment of Truth" into thirty).
