One day during a thunderstorm, Mulle Meek had a brilliant idea: to build an environmentally friendly electric car. Quiet, smooth driving, without any harmful exhausts. The idea was excellent, but there was a hitch: Mulle was great at mechanics, but not so much in electricity. Fortunately, many skilled craftsmen and masters live nearby. Some of them are already familiar to readers from previous books — Lucas Diesel, Doris Schtaisson, and Gordon Momental. They help Mulle Meek build the electric car and also explain the principles of electricity in simple words. Both endpapers of the book are dedicated to electricity. They introduce preschoolers in an accessible way to concepts such as magnet, electron, conductor, generator, electric motor, battery, and so on — knowledge useful to children not only in school but in life. The creators of the Mulle Meek books are the renowned Swedish author Georg Johansson, who wrote many children's books about science and technology, and the equally famous illustrator Jens Album. Stories about the jack-of-all-trades mechanic Mulle Meek and his dog Buff have been hugely popular among Swedish children for 30 years. Mulle is loved as much as the famous heroes of Astrid Lindgren's tales.
