Ninth-grader Olya Goncharova helps her parents, who run a postcard shop in Kaliningrad, and is actively involved in postcrossing. International postcard exchange seems harmless, but everything changes when, a week before autumn break, an antique card accidentally lands in the Goncharovs' mailbox. Olya suggests that her friends—Nastya, Hammer, and Gleb—create their own detective agency to solve the mystery of the unknown sender. Their initially playful investigation, resembling more of a library quest, quickly becomes serious and leads them into a journey full of dangers. The heroes enter a real "Dead Man's Labyrinth," and the closer they get to the solution, the more Olya wonders if the card marked with a stamp bearing an Egyptian vulture was really meant for her by chance. Evgeny Rudashevsky, with his characteristic love of historical and everyday details, not only meticulously developed the plotlines but also vividly described many locations in the Kaliningrad region. Among these places, the old villa of the Kaliningrad Regional Children's Library stands out, within whose walls many events of "Dead Man's Labyrinth," the first book of the adventure duology "Rathshof Post Station," unfold. Evgeny Rudashevsky is the author of nearly twenty books and a laureate of many literary awards. His novel "The Idol" from the "Isis Archive" series won the "Book of the Year—2022" award, and his young adult works have received the V.P. Krapivin and "Kniguru" awards, are included in the catalog of outstanding children's books of the world "White Ravens" of the Munich International Youth Library, and are translated into foreign languages.
