One day, Mom told Ben that death is like the flap of a big black bird's wing, the shadow of which briefly falls on someone who happens to be right beneath it, and for a few moments on those around him at that time. Maybe she already felt the closeness of this wing? Waking up one sunny October day, Ben and his younger brother Carl discover that their mother is dead. Her heart suddenly stopped, and with it — the life of the family. The boys and their father, each in their own way, experience a heavy loss. During the next seven days, they will have to go through many trials, the main one being to accept the death of a loved one.
